NH-24 is Proposed to be Widened
Boom in Delhi NCR |
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has finally dusted the files acquiring dirt and has put back the agenda of widening the stretch in their itinerary. It has rolled out tenders to widen the critical 28 km section from Nizamuddin Bridge to Dasna for 14 lanes while the next 22 km stretch from Dasna to Hapur shall be widened to six lanes.
For those interested to buy property in Delhi NCR’s key real estate regions like Ghaziabad and Noida, this news is a boon. This route (Nizamuddin to Dasna) has been a pain for commuters that resulted in negative sentiment for the urban agglomerations here. With this expansion, the demand in real estate is sure to go up for this stretch.
There is even more good news to follow. Three underpasses are also in the revamping list of the Urban Surface Transport Ministry, which has asked the development authorities to also explore the possibility of building two parallel elevated roads along the left and right of NH-24.
The plan for Nizamuddin to Dasna goes like this: of the 14 lanes planned expansion, six lanes (three on each side) will be an expressway with very few entry and exit points to ensure smooth flow of traffic while the other eight lanes (four on each side) shall be a normal highway where commuters are not required to pay for using it.
With such prospects, flats in Delhi NCR region, mainly the Crossings Republik, Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara, Kaushambi, RNE and other areas on NH-24 are expected to jump up by 30-70%, which shall be directly proportional to their distance from Delhi.
